Brain Leakage

To my children; words of wit and questionable wisdom from your daddies' head. And for anyone else who might be interested.

My Photo
Name:
Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States

I used to go boating, camping, and I enjoyed driving. Now I just read about others doing those things and I sit at the keyboard all day, and most of the night, surfing the net for humor, playing games, and writing nonsense. Being disabled, I'm not exactly unemployed, and I'm not exactly retired. I'm somewhere in between. I still play guitar and sing once in a while, but usually as a result of my daughter browbeating me into it. She sings too. My son and I, and sometimes the daughter, go target shooting on weekends. Other than that I'm usually at home, getting in my wifes way and fighting over the TV remote with my son. We both like to put something stupid on TV that we can ignore while we play on the computer. Since I'm always on the other side of the camera, my current photo is a rendition of my trademark, The Aardmoose, drawn by my brother, Charley.

A Voice From Iraq

I am putting forth a link to a blog written by a young soldier who has recently arrived in Iraq to begin a tour of about one year. I ask that those of you who are opposed to the war in Iraq to step aside from your feelings and look not at the war, but rather at the daily life of the serviceman just doing his duty. His writings provide a fascinating insight into the reality of just existing in 130+ temperatures, with gravity fed showers, gravity serviced toilets, wind blown sand that gets into everything, and the constant state of apprehension that they all must deal with.

In addition to that, this young man is responsible for the safety of many others due to his rank. His name is; 1st Sgt. David Hamilton Jr. of the 104th Cavalry, and he is my step-son. I couldn't be more proud of him if he was my own son, and I know how proud his mother and his real father are of him as well as the rest of both families. He is a good man with beautiful family of his own with a lovely wife and three wonderful kids. Above all, he is doing what he feels is right and whether you agree with the politics of the situation or not, he, and all of his fellow service persons, deserve respect and thanks.
